TRICONEX Safety Fault Tolerant Controller (SIS Triple Redundancy System under Schneider)
1、 Brand foundation
Triconex, formerly a safety instrument brand under Envision, now belongs to Schneider EcoStruxure Plant and is a global benchmark for industrial SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems). Its core technology is TMR triple module redundant architecture, all of which have passed the T Ü V SIL3 highest safety level certification and meet the IEC61508/IEC61511 process safety standards.
2、 Core TMR Triple Redundancy Principle (Different from Ordinary PLC/DCS)
The entire system consists of input modules CPU、 The output module has three independent parallel channels throughout the entire chain, and the internal high-speed TriBus bus synchronous operation:
Three independent CPUs (A/B/C) synchronously execute the same security logic program;
The digital signal adopts a two out of three voting method, and single channel faults are automatically blocked without affecting the output;
Simulate median filtering to remove abnormal drift sampling values;
Dual redundancy of power and communication modules;
Support module hot swappable online maintenance, replace faulty cards without stopping the machine, and uninterrupted interlock protection.

1. Tricon (Classic Large Rack, v9/v10/v11)
Positioning: Integrated safety control for large equipment and units (ESD+gas turbine/compressor control+F&G)
Hardware: 19 inch multi slot rack, maximum expansion of 15 racks, 118 I/O modules, remote I/O up to 12km
Typical cards: 3008 main CPU, 3503DI, 3624AO, 3723 communication card, 3351 Modbus gateway
Applicable: Large scale refining LNG、 Anti surge of turbine/compressor in combined cycle power plant, offshore platform
Production stoppage explanation: The old models of v9/v10 are gradually being reduced in production, with stock maintenance and refurbished spare parts circulating
2. Tricon CX (new generation flagship v12, currently the main promotion)
Positioning: Integrated safety+unit control fusion platform, replacing the old Tricon model
Advantages: Significant improvement in CPU performance, SOE event accuracy of 1ms, remote expansion of 70km, 50% reduction in cabinet size, support for network information security authentication
Ability: Simultaneously achieve SIL3 safety interlocking, turbine speed regulation, anti surge, and coordinated control of the unit
Supporting software: Tricon Station 1131, built-in security logic automatic verification tool

Positioning: Small and medium-sized devices, distributed on-site safety cabinets, small boiler BMS, small compressors
Features: Integrated compact rack, fewer I/O points, lower cost, and complete TMR triple redundancy SIL3
Common modules: 3501DI, 3611AI, AIH3723X communication card, suitable for renovation projects and equipment installation
4. Tri GP (economical SIL2 universal safety controller)
Positioning: Low risk process, small fire and gas system, ordinary combustion management, only SIL2 certification, lower cost
Not suitable for high-risk scenarios such as ESD and turbine protection in large units

The old Tricon v9/v10 CPU, 3008, 3503EN and other classic modules have been discontinued by the original factory, and there are no new futures available; The market source of goods includes inventory of new machines, dismantled machines, refurbished and repaired parts;
Tricon CX v12 and Trident are still in mass production, with priority given to new projects;
All discontinued modules are provided with long-term maintenance services by the original factory, which can repair faulty components.
